INTERNATIONAL DEGREE PROGRAMMES AT TALLINN UNIVERS'TY.OF TECHNOLOGY(TUT).

The internationalization of higher education is one of the key strategic goals of our University. That is why practically every faculty member of TUT is putting extra effort into developing degree programmes in English. Outside the classrooms we strive to make international students at TUT as comfortable as possible while still maintaining an exciting learning environment.

At the moment there are seven degree programmes in English to choose from.

One Bachelor programme:

• International Business Administration

And six Master’s programmes:

• International Business Administration
• Information Technology
• Industrial Engineering and Management
• Environmental Management and Cleaner Production
• Technology Governance
• Materials and Processes of Sustainable Energetics

In the academic year 2007/2008 there are around 200 international students working towards their international degrees from TUT. Our international students and alumni of international degree programmes come from the following 25 countries: Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Spain, Ukraine.

THE DEADLINES FOR FALL SEMESTER 2008: 31st of May, 2008

Different national education systems have different standards. Therefore it is always recommended to check with the International Study Center regarding the requirement for your country.
Bachelor level applicants are required to have completed their secondary education and possess university eligibility. Also, applicants must meet the minimum grade point average requirement.
Master level applicants are required to have achieved a Bachelor's degree.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• filled out application form;
• copy of a secondary education certificate and/or diploma of Bachelor's degree (translation is requested if this document is not in English). Both copy and translation have to be attested by a notary;
• transcript of records (translated in English and attested by a notary);
• copies of the identification pages of passport;
• 2 passport size photos (photo requirements );
• receipt/cheque of application fee for 40 EUR;
• non-native English speakers are requested to present a copy of TOEFL/IELTS score report. The score of TOEFL test should not be less than 500 (173 computer based, 61 iBT). Requested IELTS score: 5,0 and above;
• CV (only for students applying for MBA programme).

TUTION FEES AND OTHER COSTS

There are two types of fees for International Programs in English at Tallinn University of Technology:

1. Application fee
2. Tuition fee

Application fee is non-refundable, one time payment and is for processing prospective students' admission documents (application, study agreement, transcript, CV, etc.). Application documents will be processed only after the payment is received. The amount of the application fee is 40 EUR.

The tuition fee covers lectures, laboratory work, tutorial sessions etc. It doesn't cover personal textbooks, printing or copying study materials, textbooks in the library, access to the library and computer classes etc. The tuition fee must be paid prior to getting the Confirmation of Enrollment from TUT to be used for the purposes of obtaining the residence permit for study in Estonia. Students from EU will pay tuition fee one semester at a time. Students from outside EU will pay tuition fees one academic year at a time (two semesters).

THE TUTION FEES FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2008/2009:

Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences; Business Administration – BBA: 3050 EUR/academic year

Master of Business Administration – MBA: 3500 EUR/academic year

Master of Information Technology: 2700 EUR/academic year

Master of Industrial Engineering and Management : 1870 EUR/academic year

Master of Environmental Management and Cleaner Production: 1870 EUR/academic year

Master of Technology Governance: 3000 EUR for full programme

ACCOMMODATION

Our staff at the International Study Center (ISC) will give support to international students in finding suitable accommodations while studying at TUT.

Here are the main options for arranging student accommodation in Tallinn:

• On campus accommodation – students, who need University accommodations should notify their intent at the time of applying for admission. There are double rooms available, all fully furnished with a private bathroom and free Wireless Internet. There are new dormitories being built as well and these should be ready in 2009.
